1/23/2024 0 Comments Fastest usb block erupter![]() The chip inside this was called the “BitFury” chip (thus the name). It was made by a company called the “Big Picture Mining Company”. The Red Fury was the first batch of the Fury line and it came with a beautiful full size red heatsink. The Red / Blue / Ice Fury ASIC Red Fury ASIC Miner This successful mining then flipping would set me up for trouble later (especially with the Gridseeds and the Cubes). Once I started mining with Red Furies I sold these in December 2013 for $40 each or about $400 total after mining with them for a few months. This ended up being a real bargain as the demand for them skyrocketed as mining success stories started to come in. It looks like I was able to get them for about $13 a piece. How reasonable you ask? I dug through my old Gmail receipts to find this: ![]() In contrast to these previous offerings ASICMiner pushed enough real hardware in the market that ordinary people were able to obtain them for a reasonable price. They were finally shut down by the FTC in 2014. They sold tens of thousands of preorders for a miner they hadn’t produced yet and strung people along for essentially years. Butterfly Labs is an infamous example of this. Up until this point the Bitcoin ASIC market was filled with essentially scams. The mining speed of the miner was 330 MH/s. This miner was powered by the BE100 chipset (ASICMiner’s first generation 1 chip). Although this wasn’t the first ever Bitcoin ASIC introduced it was the first one that wasn’t nearly impossible to get your hands on. Our journey begins with the ASICMiner Block Erupter Sapphire miner. The Best Useful Plastic Shoe Space Savers For Home 1/23/2024 0 Comments Andis t outliner![]() The GTX blades are also a reason why I decided to skip on the classic T-Outliner. Performing a zero gap on a GTX blade is generally harder than doing so with the Wahl Detailers. While the GTX blades are perfect for outlining and trimming your beard, they are even better at cleanups – for example necklines.Īt the same time, shaping mustaches and narrower areas can be a bit tough due to the wider blade design. The T-Outliner blades are made of stainless steel again, with the addition of them being carbon-coated for some extra durability. It does make faster work on the cut, though so you can shave a minute or two off of your haircut. Again, though it is not as big an issue when you’re not bulk cutting and your only goal is to edge a haircut or beard. It cuts more quickly and cleanly in general. Though, in both cases I do prefer to have a rotary motor. The type of motor in a trimmer is not nearly as important as in a clipper. It’s a double-edged sword, though, as exactly the electromagnetic motor causes the GTX to overheat. Running on a remarkable amount of 7200 strokes per minute, it’s an example of Andis tools’ output capabilities. The Andis GTX T-Outliner trimmer on, on the other hand, features an electromagnetic motor. No one likes getting nicked with a pointy trimmer blade. And I have to say, the Wahl trimmer does require of you to be more careful around its blades in comparison with the GTX. Leave some more space, otherwise you risk having the Detailer blades get too sharp. However, you definitely don’t want to gap it as closely as you would do with the GTX T-Outliner. While the Detailer’s color scheme is somehow aristocratic, the GTX evokes a feeling of raw power with its stylish black body. ![]() Life in a barbershop can be hard on your tools, so no matter how pretty they look out of the box, don’t expect them to stay that way for long! I dropped it countless times, and aside from the teeth of the blade getting broken once, it was like nothing happened. That casing is hard as a rock but has enough give that it can take a hit. While it won’t win any style awards, the thing I loved about it was the abuse it could take and not miss a beat. I used the T Outliner for quite a while when I was just starting out. ![]() Some professionals adore the heavier feeling of a T-outliner casual users might prefer the lighter, smaller and easier to maneuver Wahl Detailer trimmer. I’d say this Wahl Detailer vs Andis T-Outliner one is a tough comparison in the Body & Design department. The cord is one of the reasons I think the GTX version of the T-Outliner is better than the usual one. It’s the same size as the standard Outliners:Ī very remarkable feature of the GTX is its long, thick cord and 3-pronged plug, instead of the standard 2 prongs. Does that mean it isn’t a good trimmer? Of course not!Ī hard plastic (polymer) body ensures proper durability. Probably the most basic looking is the T Outliner. We’ll get into how these guys work in a bit, but this was merely to show you what you’ll be looking at day in and day out, so how they look does come into play. and a bit bigger too, at 5.5″.įorm is great and all, but without function it doesn’t mean much. The GTX T-Outliner trimmer is significantly heavier at 11.2 oz. It evokes an elegant feeling of roaring power hidden inside it. You get high quality hard plastic covering the machine’s rather lightweight body, the top having a chrome finish.Įxactly the opposite, the GTX features a full-on gloss back finish. The Detailer trimmer is 5″ long and weights a total of 6.9 oz. On one hand, you have Wahl’s typical 5 star series color combination – burgundy, with some chrome finish and a little bit of white. The Wahl Detailer trimmer and Andis GTX T-Outliner couldn’t be more contrasting. This comparison perfectly showcases how different clipper brands approach product design. 1/23/2024 0 Comments Tesla wall connector outsideOnce we have all the details required, we will email you an honest and accurate quote. ![]()

1/22/2024 0 Comments Aesthetic widgetsmithThis update includes the first two of these new tools, with many more planned in the coming months. Right now, when you tap on a widget you just open the app, but I can do better. Powerful ToolsĪnother new goal that I have for Widgetsmith is to make the experience of tapping on a Widgetsmith widget more useful. ![]() Providing a rolling set of inspiration from which you can update your own look. I intend to release a new collection of Themes roughly every three months. This initial set is by the extraordinary type designer, Matthew Butterick. ![]() Now I’m going to start working with type designers to provide a rich variety of options to make your homescreen really look sharp. When Widgetsmith initially launched it only provided the built-in system font options. It isn’t so much prescriptive as inspirational in nature.Īdditionally, I’m thrilled to announce the addition of a handful of new fonts. To that end I’ve put together a collection of new colors and themes for Widgetsmith that I believe work well together and should hopefully provide a fresh starting point from which people can update their iPhone aesthetic. Instead, the goal is to provide a fresh, harmonious starting point from which to reset from. The more I explored this space, however, the more I come to appreciate that while yes the seeds of the choices are largely arbitrary…the goal is not to somehow divine what the trends are going to be. Prior to this work it has always felt rather arbitrary that each season fashion designers can declare a new set of colors and looks as “in”. While I’m no expert at fashion, I have recently tried to become a student of it. The first being the 2022 Spring Collection: To that end I’m going to start rolling out new aesthetic collections at the start of each season. I want to build the tools you need to customize and personalize the look to be exactly what you’d like. Right from the start of its quite unexpected rise to popularity, Widgetsmith’s core ability has been to allow you to take control over the look and feel of your iPhone’s homescreen. ![]() This update is focused around two new themes that I intend to lean into with the coming releases: Seasonal content and Powerful Tools. Today I’m announcing the launch of Widgetsmith 3.0. In more than a few words, it works nearly flawlessly, and in a way that can only best be described as “Apple-ish”. And if you need to make changes, or switch covers, or fix mistakes, instead of bothering your busy formatting person, you can “regenerate” new files yourself. ![]() (The price per book gets lower if you purchase more credits at once, 3 books for $99.99, 5 for $149.99, etc.) If 50 bucks sounds expensive, remember that you’d easily pay that (and much more) to get it professionally formatted by someone else. (Vellum uses in-app purchasing, a smart move, and something that keeps games like “Candy Crush” on the top-grossing charts.) Once you finish formatting your book, it costs $49.99 to kick out the ready-to-upload files for iBooks, Kindle, and Nook. But before you jump up and down with excitement, keep in mind that it’s only free until you “generate” an ebook. Over the past few years, I’d seen the music industry transformed by products that put the power in the hands of creators, and Vellum promised a similar shift for authors. But despite my skepticism, I was anxious to try it. According to Vellum’s creators, Brad West and Brad Andalman, the app made the process of formatting an ebook easy.įormatting easy? That was an oxymoron if I’d ever heard one. On December 12th, a day before my birthday, I spotted an article on DBW about a brand new Mac OSX application called Vellum. My stories were like super-charged engines in need of race car bodies in order to get out on the track. ![]() Though all the stories were fully edited, the only thing I possessed were basic Word docs. I was desperately trying to re-release my first two novels, as well as a brand new short story, as ebooks in time for Christmas. However, all rays do not interfere constructively for this situation, and so the maximum is not as intense as the central maximum. Most rays from the slit will have another to interfere with constructively, and a maximum in intensity will occur at this angle. Two rays, each from slightly above those two, will also add constructively. One ray travels a distance λ different from the ray from the bottom and arrives in phase, interfering constructively. In fact the central maximum is six times higher than shown here.Īt the larger angle shown in Figure 2c, the path lengths differ by 3λ/2 for rays from the top and bottom of the slit. A graph of single slit diffraction intensity showing the central maximum to be wider and much more intense than those to the sides. There will be another minimum at the same angle to the right of the incident direction of the light.įigure 3. In fact, each ray from the slit will have another to interfere destructively, and a minimum in intensity will occur at this angle. A ray from slightly above the center and one from slightly above the bottom will also cancel one another. Thus a ray from the center travels a distance λ/2 farther than the one on the left, arrives out of phase, and interferes destructively. In Figure 2b, the ray from the bottom travels a distance of one wavelength λ farther than the ray from the top. However, when rays travel at an angle θ relative to the original direction of the beam, each travels a different distance to a common location, and they can arrive in or out of phase. When they travel straight ahead, as in Figure 2a, they remain in phase, and a central maximum is obtained. ![]() (Each ray is perpendicular to the wavefront of a wavelet.) Assuming the screen is very far away compared with the size of the slit, rays heading toward a common destination are nearly parallel. These are like rays that start out in phase and head in all directions. According to Huygens’s principle, every part of the wavefront in the slit emits wavelets. Here we consider light coming from different parts of the same slit. The analysis of single slit diffraction is illustrated in Figure 2. In contrast, a diffraction grating produces evenly spaced lines that dim slowly on either side of center. Note that the central maximum is larger than those on either side, and that the intensity decreases rapidly on either side. Figure 1 shows a single slit diffraction pattern. Light passing through a single slit forms a diffraction pattern somewhat different from those formed by double slits or diffraction gratings. (b) The drawing shows the bright central maximum and dimmer and thinner maxima on either side. ![]() The central maximum is six times higher than shown. Monochromatic light passing through a single slit has a central maximum and many smaller and dimmer maxima on either side. |
